Heading North up the A68 , riding along the side of Derwent reservoir, through the medievil village of Blanchland which is steeped in so much history, across the high grouse moors towards Allenheads with views ( on a fine day ) of the Scottish borders.
The moors around Coalcleugh , into Cumbria, Nenthead then Killhope mines. The remote upland moors of Weardale, the beautiful tranqil Burnhope resevoir, briefly stepping onto the highest road in England before traveling down the dale through Westgate, Stanhope & Wolsingham.
This is really one of our home tours and is second to none , there is no better 2 hour tour (Guides opinion only..lol)! |
