| A few days ago whilst driving up to a promotions event at Newcastle Quayside we were talking about Easter and what was happening. Just then an Idea came to us , why not do a charity egg run up to the childrens ward at our local hospital ? It wouldnt take to much to organise ( was so wrong on that point :) and it would be nice for the local kids which are stuck in hospital. Basically on Easter Sunday we roll up to the hospital on the trike with a sack full of eggs for all the kids. Egg runs are nothing new for bikers, a lot of clubs help out like this but our area seemed to be missing out, until now that is. We decided to get some help from friends in the media, so first stop was Teesdale radio where we were already guests that night on the outstanding 'drive time show'. The presenter Gary done a sterling job for us to launch the appeal to local companies to donate Easter eggs. Next stop was the Northern Echo, the Weardale gazette, Wear valley mercury, Teesdale mercury and Tyne Tees television, whom have jumped straight on board . Then Jo started the task of phoning local companies and asking them to help by donating an Easter egg, she was busy that day and got 26 local companies to help out starting with Stuart from the Victoria at Witton le Wear who gave the appeal some beautiful Easter eggs and offered the Vic' as a drop off point for eggs and donations. All the other companies from the Wear Valley area were really keen to help out and will be donating up to Easter. Below there is a list of all the companies in Bishop Auckland, Crook, Barnard Castle and the surrounding areas who have helped out. If we haven't contacted you please give us a call and we will come and collect an egg from you or you can drop it in at the Victoria Inn at Witton le Wear or just a couple of pound and we will buy the egg, you will also be added to this page........................Thanks to all of you whom have given generously, we most certainly do live in the best part of the country, but we knew that anyway............Mark. |
